How to get to Lopburi?

Go by car, it is really simple

Roads in Lopburi are so easy to get around and if you want to drive your car, then you will have to choose which Amphur (district) you want to go to.  If you choose Anphur Muang, there are 2 options available: The first  is to use highway No. 1, or Phaholyothin Road, which will cut through Amphur Wang Noi, Ayutthaya province and enter Saraburi province (using a bypass). Once you arrive in Amphur Phra Puttabath, continue to the inner city of Lopburi. The distance from Bangkok to Lopburi province is approximately 165 kilometers. If you wish to use a different passage, you will have to start at to Highway NO. 347 (Pathumthanee-Chao Plook), cut through Amphur Bang Pa In, stay away from the inner city of Ayutthaya, until you arrive at Chao Plook intersection, Amphur Maharaj, Ayutthaya, then you can connect to Highway No. 3196 (Dong Plub-Chao Plook). Drive further til you arrive at the city of Lopburi. Using this route will cover roughly about 140 kilometers in distance. By the way, I wouldn’t advise you to do so, because the traffic itself along this route journey can be bad and much worse than using Phaholyothin Road which cuts through Saraburi.

If you wish to come to Lopburi on the East side from Amphur Pattananikhom, then use Highway No. 1 Phaholyothin Road, which cuts through the inner city of Lopburi (using the bypass). Drive further, until you arrive at Put Kae intersection, Amphur Chalerm Phra Kiat, then turn right to enter Highway NO. 21 (Put Kae). This road will take you through Amphur Pattananikhom, entrance to Pa Sak Jolasid Dam, covering a total distance from Bangkok of approximately 160 kilometers.

From that stage, continue your journey to Amphur Chaibadarn and enter Petchaboon and Loei provinces. Over Amphur Pattananikhom, there is Highway No. 3017, which cuts horizontally direct to the city of Lopburi and merges with Phaholyothin Road under a distance of approximately 30 kilometers.
